Ms. Jacobson
Hoot hoot, Owls! I am Jan Jacobson, aka Ms. J.J., and I am grateful to be a fifth-grade teacher at West Handley Elementary. I am a Fort Worth native who graduated from Baylor University (Sic ‘em, Bears!) with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, and I am certified to teach grades 1–8 along with ESL. This 2024-2025 school year will be my 24th year of teaching, and I still LOVE it! I taught 2nd and 3rd grades for six years; however, this is my 18th year in my favorite grade – 5th, the grade that ROCKS!!
I am widowed, but I am blessed with two beautiful daughters and eight glorious grandchildren ages 3-19. We are a family of singers. My daughter was a recording artist for RCA in Nashville. You may still hear her song, “The Christmas Shoes”, playing on the radio during the holiday season. My daughters and I each performed on the local Johnnie High Country Music Revue for many years. Now, we are busy watching and cheering on (yes; I am the loudest!) at all the grandkids sports activities. I have just enough voice left to cheer on my Baylor Bears and the Dallas Cowboys!
I look forward to a fabulous year of scattering joy with my precious 5th graders!
