Second Grade

Hello!  My name is Maria Smith and I am a second grade teacher at West Handley Elementary.  I am originally from Brownsville, Texas.  I graduated from the University of Texas at Brownsville.  I am certified in the following; Generalist EC-4 and Bilingual Generalist-Spanish EC-4.  I always wanted to be a teacher since I was in 4^th grade!  This will be my 19^th year of working with young children and have enjoyed the journey.

I have a 27 year old daughter and 23 year old son who live in San Antonio.  I enjoy visiting them when I can and spending time with my family.  I also have 2 boxers named Rocky and Sadie.  They are playful, loyal and loving. 

In. my free time I enjoy going to the gym and just relaxing.  

I know this will be a great year and can't wait to see how much my students will learn by the end of the year!
